# Windows

Faceplugin ID Document Recognition Windows SDK. Fully on-premise OCR and authenticity HTTP API on port 8082. documentRecognition, documentProcess.

Fully on-premise **ID Document Recognition HTTP API for Windows**. Default port **8082**. Gradio **9002**. No Docker on Windows — use [Linux SDK](/products/id-document-recognition-sdk/recognition-and-liveness/server-sdk/id-document-recognition-linux-sdk.md) for Docker.

Reads ID cards, passports, and driver licenses. Same routes as [ID Document Recognition Linux SDK](/products/id-document-recognition-sdk/recognition-and-liveness/server-sdk/id-document-recognition-linux-sdk.md). Parse results with [Document result JSON](/products/id-document-recognition-sdk/document-result-json.md).

### APIs

Same as [ID Document Recognition Linux SDK](/products/id-document-recognition-sdk/recognition-and-liveness/server-sdk/id-document-recognition-linux-sdk.md):

| Endpoint                        | Purpose                                  |
| ------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------- |
| `GET /api/health`               | Process is listening (no license)        |
| `GET /api/machinecode`          | Machine code                             |
| `GET /api/licenseStatus`        | License status                           |
| `GET /api/backend`              | `"cpu"`                                  |
| `POST /api/activate`            | Activate and `init_sdk()`                |
| `POST /api/documentRecognition` | OCR / MRZ / barcode / image quality only |
| `POST /api/documentLiveness`    | Authenticity only                        |
| `POST /api/documentProcess`     | Combined OCR + optional authenticity     |
| `POST /api/generalProcess`      | Single-image general process             |

Full reference: [Document Reader HTTP API](/integration/http-api/document-reader.md). Shared control routes: [Shared endpoints](/integration/http-api/shared.md).

Some routes wrap the result in a small JSON object (an **envelope**). Process POSTs return **engine JSON** as the body.

### Try it

```bash
curl -s http://127.0.0.1:8082/api/health
IMG=$(base64 -w0 id-front.jpg)
curl -s -X POST http://127.0.0.1:8082/api/documentProcess \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d "{\"images\":[{\"image\":\"$IMG\",\"page_idx\":0}],\"response\":{\"OCR\":\"normal\",\"Authenticity\":\"normal\"}}"
```

**Postman:** import `postman/DocumentReader-API.postman_collection.json` from the repo. Base URL `http://127.0.0.1:8082`. Gradio **9002**. Authenticity names: [Document security check fields](/products/id-document-recognition-sdk/document-security-check-fields.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://doc.faceplugin.com/products/id-document-recognition-sdk/recognition-and-liveness/server-sdk/id-document-recognition-windows-sdk.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
